Tessera is seeking a skilled and experienced Electronics Technician II to support technical operations at USAFA. This role involves performing advanced installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities. The technician applies comprehensive knowledge of electronic theory and system interrelationships to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
I nstall, configure, and maintain advanced electronic systems including communication and control equipment
Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits using schematics and diagnostic tools
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance
Calibrate and test equipment to meet performance standards and operational requirements
Collaborate with engineers and senior staff on system upgrades and technical documentation
Support emergency repairs, mentor junior technicians, and ensure adherence to safety and USAFA protocols
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, and system integration
Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred
Technical certifications in electronics, HVAC controls, or building automation systems are highly desirable
Familiarity with basic electronic theory, circuit analysis, and diagnostic tools
Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
Basic understanding of electronic components, wiring, and system functionality
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Physical Requirements Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
