We are a fast-growing, dynamic company seeking a Production Planner to join our headquarters in City of Industry, CA.
Overview The Production Planner works with the Planning Supervisor in the production planning department as it impacts manufacturing operations. This role will assist in the preparation and evaluation of Production Schedules along with processing work orders in accordance with the Production Plan.
Responsibilities
Create work orders and travelers in support of the Sales forecast, Production plan, and schedules
Release work orders to the appropriate departments
Transact completion and closure of work orders
Review customer orders to understand special requirements and to ensure custom materials are procured
Assign customer orders and prepare supporting documents including configuration sheets
Coordinate with various departments for a smooth workflow and alert senior personnel of anomalies that impact the Production plan/schedules
Report Work in Progress status
Ensure backorders are prioritized and followed up on by communicating with the Expeditor and interdepartmentally as needed
Review and compare Bills of Materials to work orders and communicate inaccuracies to the Planning Supervisor
Transact material transfers
Assist in weekly validation of open work orders
Support physical inventory function
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Education And Experience
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
Experience with ERP systems; experience with SAGE a plus
Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proactive and detail-oriented
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
Non-Exempt
Hours: Full-time, 8:00am – 4:30pm
(Hours subject to change depending on the needs of the Business)
Location: Based in City of Industry Headquarters and Ontario R&D facility
