The Town of Windsor seeks a Maintainer II to perform manual and semi‑skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work in streets, highways, parks, and grounds.

Salary: $61,620 annually (subject to current contract negotiations). This position is part of the Teamsters Local 671 Bargaining Unit.
Responsibilities
Perform street maintenance: repair streets and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete; operate rollers, dump trucks, shovels, and rakes; fill and patch potholes.
Perform grounds maintenance: cut grass and trim weeds on town property and parks using riding and walk‑behind mowers and trimmers.
Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of highway construction, repair, and maintenance practices.
Skill operating dump trucks and highway maintenance vehicles and equipment.
Knowledge of use and care of hand and power tools.
Knowledge of grounds maintenance.
Skill operating mowing, trimming, and athletic field maintenance equipment.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Strong listening, understanding, retention, and application of verbal and written instructions; ability to write simple correspondence.
Availability for standby and emergency response coverage after regular hours, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent, plus two years of related highway construction or grounds maintenance experience; OR any combination of training or experience that demonstrates the potential to perform the essential duties of the position.
Good driving record.
Pass post‑offer physical and drug screen, including screening for marijuana.
Special Requirements Must have and maintain a valid CDL (B) with the necessary endorsement(s) to operate public works vehicles and equipment, and be able to obtain a valid CDL (A) license if required.
