Overview
Construction Inspector (T2) at Crown Castle. Crown Castle is the nation’s largest provider of shared communications infrastructure: towers, small cells and fiber. The Construction Inspector position monitors the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for projects of routine to moderate complexity, while ensuring a safe environment in coordination with all corporate, local, state and OSHA rules and regulations. Responsibilities
Promote company-wide safety awareness. Act as Crown Castle safety observer and Quality Assurance representative on site, ensuring compliance with Crown Castle safety program and related workmanship practices. Maintain current understanding of FCC and OSHA laws and regulations; implement proper policies, procedures, training, tracking and auditing to ensure compliance. Assist with company vehicle audits and scheduling vehicles for routine maintenance. Assist with investigation of reported accidents and injuries. Recommend preventive measures; keep accurate records of on-the-job accidents. Collaborate with Fiber Engineers, Utility Relations, Network Real Estate, RF Engineers, Product Development, Procurement, and other internal departments to provide input on network design and constructability. Advise and influence Network Managers/Supervisors in construction work and in safety and construction training programs. Make regular site visits during construction (bid walk, pre-construction walk, in-progress site visits, punch walks, closeout). Attend company and client status meetings as needed. Ensure work adheres to Crown Castle construction standards, processes, and procedures. Oversee, inspect, and monitor contractual fieldwork (excavation, boring, hand hole placement, aerial strand and fiber cable installation, restoration of work areas). Take field measurements of trenches and restoration areas to verify contractor billing; review alignment with drawings/as-builts and electrical/communication clearances. Recommend changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or achieve cost savings. Maintain project records (daily notes, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records); upload documents as needed. Review project closeout packages for accuracy and completeness and provide feedback as appropriate. Advance system tasks and complete administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience Experience/Minimum Requirements
Five (5) years of work experience in a related field A valid driver’s license required Other Skills/Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective professional relationships Knowledge of safety procedures and practices Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, fiber optic theory Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations Knowledge of FCC Rules & Regulations Knowledge of FAA Rules & Regulations related to Telecommunications Knowledge of Radio Interference Ability to read blueprints and other construction plans Personal computer skills Strong communication skills to represent the company Organizational Relationship

This role operates in a hybrid model: in-office about 60% of the time (3 days per week) and remote 40% (2 days per week). Travel to sites with exposure to heavy equipment and RF Radiation. Travel may be 50% or more. Available to work after hours, holidays, and on-call as required. Employment and responsibilities may transition to an acquiring company in the future. Compensation
The pay range offered for this position is $24.76 - $34.04 per hour. Offers consider experience, role-related knowledge, education/training, location, and internal alignment. Compensation may include discretionary annual cash bonus or equity incentives, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401k, paid time off, and holidays.
