Welder / Metal Fabricator Level 1 Location:
Milwaukee, WI Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with paid overtime as needed Position Overview: Seeking a skilled Welder / Metal Fabricator with experience in MIG welding and structural fabrication. The ideal candidate is organized, capable of running their own projects, and comfortable working on a variety of fabrication projects. The facility is clean and well-equipped with modern tools and machinery. Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and sketches. Fabricate, weld, and assemble structural metal products to specification. Operate fabrication machines including press brakes, rolls, saws, and other powered industrial equipment safely. Resolve assembly and production issues; grind and clean workpieces. Follow safety protocols while fabricating, cutting, and assembling metal products. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required: 3+ years of MIG welding and metal fabrication experience. Ability to read and interpret multiple drawing formats, including CAD. Must pass a pre-employment weld and fit-up assessment. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating forklifts and using hand tools (square, protractor, socket set, wrenches, measuring tools). Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and good teamwork and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds overhead and reliable transportation. Welding certification. Physical Requirements
Ability to perform tasks requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, and close focus. Ability to lift heavy objects above shoulder height. Benefits
