Senior Industrial Engineer
at Centrus Energy’s Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN, you’ll be the engine behind efficiency—streamlining production processes, reducing waste, and optimizing performance in support of our cutting‑edge clean energy technology. You’ll turn data into action, ideas into improvements, and operations into well‑oiled systems that power our mission of fueling a carbon‑free future.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll dive deep into how things move, flow, and function—observing production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and engineering better ways forward. You’ll lead plant layout and process flow improvements, support product launches, and fine‑tune logistics to keep supply chains running smoothly. From creating value stream maps to developing manufacturing processes with cross‑functional teams, you’ll help ensure operations hit their targets for availability, performance, and quality. Along the way, you’ll keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with Centrus’s unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.
We’d Love to Hear From People With:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
5+ years of manufacturing experience
Hands‑on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Experience working with manufacturing quality systems such as NQA‑1, ISO/TS, or AS9100
The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.
A Successful Candidate Brings:
Experience with composites manufacturing or centrifuge systems
Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools and statistical analysis
Experience with license‑driven safety significant parts/systems
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position will require a pre‑employment background check and a pre‑employment drug test and vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export‑controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively. Such access is required for the performance of this position.
