You will be matched with an appropriate engineering team based on your skillset and experience and our current business needs. Timeline : Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting in early September. Primary locations : We prioritize placing early career engineers in locations where they can be co-located with their team and the relevant hardware they support. The primary locations for this role are: Kent, WA Los Angeles, CA Cape Canaveral, FL Huntsville, AL Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To : Collaborate as part of a hardworking team to address material challenges in various spaceflight systems. Review production drawings for large, complex assemblies to ensure optimal material selection and process implementation. Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for both metallic and non-metallic hardware. Select materials and define design requirements to meet engineering, structural, and program goals. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including quality, design, structures, thermal, integration, and manufacturing, to optimize overall system design and performance. Qualifications : Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, polymer engineering, welding engineering, geology/geosciences and mining engineering or related field. Will have earned their degree within the last year and be able to start by Fall 2026. Broad experience in:

Metallic materials such as super alloys, aluminums/ titaniums and their associated processing (e.g. forging, casting, forming, brazing, welding, etc.) Non-metallic (e.g. o-rings, seals, lubricants) hardware. Material characterization and failure modes (corrosion, failure investigation, thermal degradation, etc.) Breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks and concisely communicating project status. Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs. Flexible and adaptable mindset. Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.

Desired : MS in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, polymer engineering, welding engineering, geology/geosciences and mining engineering or related technical subject area. Familiarity with standard methods for testing mechanical properties (including fatigue, fracture, creep, stress rupture) of metallic and soft materials. Familiarity and interest in at least one of the following areas:

Friction stir welding and spin forming Mining and geophysical exploration Metallurgy and how it relates to processes such as casting and forging Metallic additive manufacturing (laser power bed) and its application to production hardware

Compensation Range For : CA applicants is $78,943.00-$110,519.85; WA applicants is $78,943.00-$110,519.85 Benefits : Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program. Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
