Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Mason City, Iowa.

Hourly Pay: $36.00 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: Mid Shift 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical certification, post secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, and advanced skilled level repairs
Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
All other certifications as required by location required
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all T3 tasks
Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Availability to work shift work, weekends and on call duty as required
Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
Proficiency operating shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
Minimum tool requirement met
Road test vehicles as necessary
Ability to coach/mentor/influence others
Must drive Ryder vehicles; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard, preventive, and complex repairs with minimal support
Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software when applicable
Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
Instruct and advise other technicians and coaches/mentors other level technicians
Advise shop management on shop repairs
Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Other support duties as required to support operations, such as Service Island support
