Job: Trajectory/Conceptual Design Engineer

About the Role: As a Trajectory/Conceptual Design Engineer, you will have a key role in supporting both business development and programs (internal and external) that cover the range of small tactical to suborbital launch vehicles.
You’ll know you’re successful in this role when you’ve leveraged your technical expertise and solution creativity to establish a workflow that provides consistency and accuracy on short timelines.
You’ll thrive in this role with at least 5 years of directly related industry/academic experience. An ideal candidate is equally adept at maintaining a big‑picture view while attending to the details that impact that view.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Trajectory Analysis:
Develop and analyze tactical, ballistic, suborbital and orbital launch vehicle trajectories for rail launch and TVC guided systems. Dispersions and fault analysis capability/understanding required.
Trajectory Simulations:
POST2 (3 & 6DoF)/POST3D, TAOS, OTIS
Weights & Sizing:
Develop and analyze launch vehicle sizing and mass properties estimates to support both conceptual and detailed design.
Systems Analysis:
Multidisciplinary skillset as applied to launch vehicle performance & operations, in‑space systems, landers, propulsion, aerodynamics, technology assessments, value stream mapping, etc.
Solid Motor Ballistic Analysis:
Working knowledge of industry standard analysis toolsets.
Programming:
C++ and Python desired, Matlab/Octave, Fortran.
Communication:
Effective communication across range of stakeholders.
Testing:
Experience with simulation, software testing, HWIL, etc.
