Overview
To recommend and implement repairs for all types of industrial and rotating equipment, including but not limited to compressors, turbines, and other equipment. Provide documentation, erection, alteration, installation, alignment, repair, replacement, disassembly, and reassembly, moving and inspecting most rotating equipment, using proper tooling and processes to complete work safely and timely to meet customer needs. Plan and oversee repairs with limited supervision. Help train other employees in the functions and processes in the department. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Conducts themselves professionally when working with internal and external customers.
Reads and comprehends drawings, sketches, work scopes, and verbal instructions.
Uses appropriate equipment, tooling, drawings, scopes, procedures, specifications and documentation to perform the primary function.
Alters and overhauls most rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears, couplings, and other equipment needed to complete jobs.
Sets up all equipment needed to complete jobs.
Applies advanced knowledge and accuracy in using measuring devices: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required tools.
Accurately measures and records all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors, and other equipment.
Passes the annual dimensional inspection test.
Understands and processes documentation associated with turbo machinery such as inspection reports, photo logs, and hold tags.
Has advanced knowledge of lifting, rigging, crane and forklift operations.
Helps train other hourly employees in repair processes and procedures.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Accepts ownership of work performance and stays abreast of job knowledge and new skill development.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
5–8 years’ experience with rotating turbo machinery.
Advanced rigging capabilities.
Advanced measuring capabilities.
Experience with turbines, compressors and other rotating equipment.

Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills.
Mechanical Assembly Skills.
