Overview
Metrology/ Calibration Technician role at BioSpace. Role focuses on calibration and repair of precision Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE), TMDE, and instrumentation in a Standards Laboratory and/or on-site field environment. Responsibilities
Calibration and repair of instruments; verification, adjustments, troubleshooting and repair of instruments and interfaces; collaborate with Metrology Engineers and equipment owners regarding calibration requirements, specifications, tolerances, etc. Apply metrology techniques and theory to laboratory practices (linearity, hysteresis, bias) and use basic math/algebra, scientific notation, and unit conversions between metric and Imperial units. Demonstrate independent judgment in problem solving, troubleshooting, analyzing circuits, and reading schematic & wiring diagrams. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 4 years experience as a Senior Instrument Technician or equivalent. Associate Degree in electronics technology or equivalent is strongly desired. College coursework and/or ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certificate is a plus. Experience with analytical instruments is a plus (e.g., Analytical Balances, HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis). Must manage activities to meet tight timelines. Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with others in a team environment in a cGMP and FDA-regulated setting. Knowledge and Conditions
Experience or knowledge with software: IBM Maxmio, Fluke Met/Cal, Fluke COMPASS, Mettler Calibry, Mettler MC-Link, etc. Knowledge of PMEL, ISO 17025, ANSI Z540.1 & Z540.3, ISO 9001, NCSL practices, measurement uncertainty (ISO GUM), TUR/TAR, Repeatability & Reproducibility, Gauge R&R, MSA, statistics, control charts, OOT investigations. Understanding of cGMP in FDA-regulated environments and ability to manage workload in a fast-paced team setting. Additional Information
