Field Service Project Manager – Siemens Energy
Location: Westmont, Illinois
Base Salary Range: $85,000–$130,000 annually; annual incentive target 10% of base salary.
Job Overview In Service Operations we like to say Outage is a Team Sport… Every successful outage starts with a winning bid and a proven execution plan, and then requires constant support and follow‑though from the entire organization before breaker‑open and beyond breaker‑shut. As a Field Project Manager you will travel to power stations and lead teams of engineers and craft labor to effect repairs and upgrades to critical power generation equipment during both planned and required outages. Work on these units is typically 24/7 and lasts from weeks to months. The role is responsible for safe technical execution, assisting field engineers to meet commercial requirements and maintain excellent customer relationships.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Lead Field Service teams at customer power plant sites around the world servicing, upgrading and modifying turbine generators and associated auxiliary equipment during planned and forced service outages.
Develop detailed outage plans, schedules, budgets, and spend plans to support district service offices in implementing outages.
Liaise with the district, Sales, Marketing, estimating teams, frame owners, engineering, and technical specialists to define mechanical scope, division of responsibilities (DOR), and customer‑specific requirements.
Maintain and continuously improve estimating tools and supporting data through evaluation and analysis of performance data from outages, implementing quality control measures, and capturing feedback from internal customers.
Evaluate cost management proposals, support new products and services, lead related special projects, and develop planning templates for field project managers.
Lead internal projects, facilitate and collaborate in multi‑functional teams, and present recommendations up to and including the executive leadership team.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; 5+ years of related technical or leadership experience preferred, open to recent grads with internship experience.
Excellent time‑management and organization skills.
Experience with project scheduling methodology and financial management.
Ability to lead teams and collaborate with customers. Excellent writing and digital literacy and willingness to learn new IT applications.
