They are seeking a hands‑on and travel‑ready Millwright for the precise on‑site installation of specialty doors and shielding systems at customer sites across the country. The Millwright position requires a skilled professional with strong mechanical aptitude and a meticulous eye for detail, who is willing to travel extensively.
When not on a job site, the Millwright will be based at the Cleveland facility, assisting with fabrication and preparation for future projects.
Nationwide travel (50% likely) is anticipated for this position; for 1–2 month periods for project installation.
Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites nationwide to perform the final installation of radiation shielding doors and other shielding systems.
Accurately assemble and install components based on engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Conduct precise alignments and leveling.
Assist with the fabrication, assembly, and preparation of shielding systems at the Cleveland facility before shipping to the job site.
Aid in the rigging and installation of other cleanroom, dryroom, and shielding systems as part of the on‑site project team.
Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry regulations, including OSHA standards, both in the fabrication shop and on customer sites.
Ensure all installation activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Perform quality checks to confirm all components meet high standards.
Willing and available to travel extensively, often on short notice, for multiple days or weeks at a time, to complete installations.
Work effectively with project managers and site supervisors to meet installation timelines and customer expectations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. A Journeyman Millwright certification is a plus.
Physically able to lift heavy objects, work in various environments (including confined spaces and at heights), and stand for extended periods.
Local to Cleveland, OH and able to travel extensively for extended periods.
Proven experience as a Millwright in a fabrication and/or field installation environment. Experience with rigging, installation of large‑scale doors, or other heavy systems is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical aptitude and expertise in using precision tools, as well as various hand and power tools.
Competent with: field installation & rigging, blueprint interpretation, mechanical aptitude, welding & fabrication, problem‑solving, travel readiness, safety consciousness.
Compensation
Base salary in the $65k–$85k/year range, flexible dependent on experience.
Travel allowance, per‑dime for overnight stays, lodging accommodations, etc.
