Fabricator II
at ReconCraft is responsible for all aspects of vessel fabrication and related component production. Duties include preparing, assembling, and welding components to create final assemblies or sub‑assemblies based on specifications and/or drawings.
Responsibilities
Operate welding equipment using appropriate GMAW and GTAW techniques to weld aluminum and steel sheet, plate, and extrusion in all positions.
Prepare weldments using tools such as saws, routers, grinders, pneumatic cutting tools, wire brushes, and various hand tools of the trade.
Basic interpretation of blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and schedules to lay out patterns on material.
Perform welding in the fabrication phase of construction, including the pre‑fabrication of sub‑assemblies such as bulkheads, girders, decks, and cabins using jigs and fixtures.
Secure small parts for assembly and welding.
Perform operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and other fabrication equipment.
Maintain a professional, neat, and secure fabrication area.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or GED.
Required Knowledge/Experience:
Valid driver’s license.
Aluminum welding and fabrication experience.
Must pass the Welding and Fabrication testing given on site.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
Fabricating and assembling aluminum vessels and/or aluminum vessel components.
Interpreting blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and weld schedules.
Operating forklifts with certification.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
This position requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing, and visual acuity.
Must also be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks.
