Position Summary: The part-time faculty member (rank commensurate with experience) in the Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) Program is responsible for teaching didactic, laboratory, and simulation courses. The role involves course design, delivery, and assessment, ensuring students meet program learning outcomes and competencies required for AA practice. The faculty member reports to the Program Director and contributes to curriculum assessment to meet ARC-AA standards. This position involves no more than 30 hours per week, with assigned workload based on departmental needs. The role aligns with the university's philosophy of quality service, growth, innovation, and positive environment. This position qualifies for full-time benefits. Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction in clinical and professional expertise areas. Conduct laboratory and simulation courses. Provide academic advising and remediation support. Assist in curriculum development and evaluation. Evaluate student performance through exams, OSCEs, and practical assessments. Create and align assessments with ARC-AA standards and content blueprints. Participate in accreditation activities, program evaluation, and advisory meetings. Contribute to admissions, student recruitment, and selection processes. Engage in service, community, scholarly activities, and faculty development. Support clinical site development and monitoring. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or Campus Dean. Job Requirements: Terminal degree as an Anesthesiologist Assistant, current NCCAA certification, and eligibility for state licensure. Preferred: 3 years of clinical experience and experience in AA/medical education. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and self-motivation skills. Ability to work collaboratively and interpret accreditation and regulatory standards. Effective problem-solving and customer service skills. Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines. Work Environment: The role involves professional communication, movement within the office or campus, handling media and equipment, and occasional travel for conferences or meetings.
