Position Summary The VCU School of Business Dean's Office invites applicants to apply for the part-time role of Dean's Office Project Coordinator. This hourly role (approximately 15-20 hours per week) will provide essential support in coordinating high-priority projects for the Dean's Office, including accreditation and assessment processes, implementation of the School's Opportunity 2030 Strategic Plan, and other strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Interim Associate Dean for Strategic Affairs, this role will work closely with members of the dean's office, faculty, staff, and university partners to support the School of Business in achieving its mission and goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

Document Preparation and Filing:

Prepare, organize, and maintain both paper and electronic documents, files, policies, proposals, reports, presentations, and administrative materials. Ensure proper filing systems and document version control for Dean's Office initiatives.

Data Entry and Information Management:

Input and maintain accurate data in university systems, tracking tools, and dashboards. Support the organization of information needed for strategic plan implementation and other key dean's office initiatives.

Opportunity 2030 Strategic Plan Support:

Provide project management assistance for strategic plan implementation activities, including progress tracking, program coordination, and administrative support for strategic initiatives within the School of Business.

AACSB Reaccreditation and Assessment Preparation:

Support activities leading up to AACSB reaccreditation in 2027, including document preparation, data collection, assessment coordination, process tracking, and administrative support for accreditation-related initiatives.

Event and Program Coordination:

Assist with logistical support for meetings, workshops, seminars, and other high-priority Dean's Office programming. Coordinate schedules, room reservations, materials, and communications.

Administrative and Communication Support:

Assist with general office operations, correspondence, and liaison activities between the Dean's Office and other university departments, external partners, and research stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret policy and procedures specific to projects; and working knowledge of the project management discipline.

Proficiency in computer applications, with working knowledge of various database and project management software programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage communications with executive sponsors and other key stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an administrative role at VCU, with familiarity navigating university systems, procedures, and cross-unit collaboration to support academic or operational initiatives.

Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications.

Experience managing or supporting strategic initiatives, high-priority projects, or cross-unit collaborations within a university or higher education setting.

Additional Information Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10-20 hours per week. This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule with the opportunity for remote work options once training is complete and must be coordinated with the supervisor of this role.

Salary Range: $20-30/hr will commensurate with experience.

FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt.

Hours per Week: approximately 15-20 hours per week.
