Job Overview
As a Buyer, you will provide purchasing expertise to ensure the timely delivery of materials for our manufactured products. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and products essential for company operations. The Buyer plays a key role in managing supplier relationships and collaborating with the engineering team while maintaining cost efficiency without compromising on quality or compliance. Key Responsibilities: Material Procurement:
Acquire necessary project materials, adhering to specifications and timelines. Purchase Order Management:
Analyze, review, and resolve issues with purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely processing. Supplier Management:
Process acknowledgments from suppliers and negotiate for competitive pricing. Source new suppliers to ensure quality and cost-efficiency. Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain and update item master database and BOMs. Review quotes for accuracy and manage ECNs and NCNs. Ensure all procurement documentation is filed accurately and is audit-ready. Collaboration:
Work closely with project management and manufacturing teams to ensure material deliveries are on schedule and maintain project and production capacities. Required Skills: Analytical Abilities:
Strong skills in analyzing data, purchase orders, and technical documents. Organizational Proficiency:
Excellent at managing multiple tasks, documents, and maintaining detailed records. Technical Skills:
Proficient with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and database management. Communication:
Effective communicator with both internal teams and external suppliers. What will help you thrive in this role? Educational Requirements: High School Diploma is mandatory. An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred, likely in a field related to business or supply chain management. Experience Requirements: At least two years of purchasing experience. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, indicating a need for someone familiar with industry-specific challenges and dynamics. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks. Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, which is crucial for managing business processes in manufacturing. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both internal team members (like project management and manufacturing departments) and external partners (like suppliers). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, showing self-motivation and initiative. Strong negotiation skills to secure the best deals and maintain budgetary constraints. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Analytical skills to review, analyze quotes and use competitive costing information effectively.
