Pay Range Base Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year.

Your actual pay will be based on skills and experience and will be discussed during the interview.

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to design and manage roadway projects, ensuring compliance with state and local standards and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver infrastructure solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop roadway designs and layouts using industry-standard software such as InRoads, ORD, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D in accordance with state and local guidelines.

Lead roadway projects from conception through completion, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and client expectations are met.

Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway and transportation projects.

Work closely with traffic, structural, and drainage teams to ensure integrated project delivery.

Maintain strong client relationships by providing practical engineering solutions.

Ensure all projects adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements.

Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables.

Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and regulatory approvals.

Prepare technical reports, memos, and other documentation.

Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).

5–10 years of roadway engineering experience with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects.

Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within six months.

Proficiency in roadway design software (MicroStation, InRoads, ORD, AutoCAD Civil 3D).

Experience with DOT projects (GDOT preferred) and familiarity with applicable design standards.

Strong project management skills and ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Experience with intersection improvement, sidewalk improvements, bridge replacements, and large-scale transportation projects is a plus.

Familiarity with traffic engineering principles is a plus.
