Quality Inspector role focusing on inspection and metrology within a high-precision manufacturing environment. The role involves using measurement equipment and interpreting specifications to ensure product quality aligns with standards. Responsibilities
Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Inspects and approves incoming finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating with upper management for any products that do not meet or exceed standards. Reads/ interprets drawings, plans, and specifications to understand product and service requirements. Proficient with SolidWorks; able to review models and related data. CMM programming for Wenzel & Zeiss (Open DMIS, PC-DMIS, Calypso). Experience with a CMM manager software/system. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, examining functionality, and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and/or operators. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and entering data into quality databases. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements; requests repairs when needed. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Resolves quality-related issues in a timely manner. Teaches the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence. Qualifications / Skills
Written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail. Excellent math and measuring skills. Proficient in manufacturing computer systems for part transfers, scrap tracking, and records maintenance. Proficient with precision inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, CMMs, height gages, optical comparators, etc.). Solid foundation of GD&T with working knowledge of geometric tolerancing. 1-2 years of Quality Control inspection in a precision manufacturing environment (preferred). Experience in Military/Defense/Small Arms QC (beneficial). Team-oriented with a positive attitude and good attendance. Willingness to share skills and knowledge with others. Maintains cleanliness in the work area and supports other duties as assigned. Benefits
