We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe/Underground/Utility Foreman to oversee and coordinate field operations on heavy civil construction projects involving underground utilities. The ideal candidate will lead a crew in the installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and other utility systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and production goals. Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in excavation and installation of underground utilities including storm drainage. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure proper installation and alignment. Plan daily activities, assign tasks to crew members, and ensure work is completed on schedule and to quality standards. Inspect work to ensure compliance with safety codes, specifications, and project standards. Maintain communication with project managers, engineers, and inspectors. Order materials, track inventory, and manage equipment needs. Promote and enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard‑free jobsite. Maintain detailed and accurate daily reports including crew timesheets, progress updates, and materials usage. Train and mentor laborers and equipment operators to promote skill development and productivity. Identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems to keep the project on track. Qualification Standards
Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility installation and heavy civil construction. Minimum 2 years of foreman or supervisory experience. Proficient in reading and interpreting civil construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and trench safety standards. Ability to operate or supervise the operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, and compactors. First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. New Hire Orientation Quiz. Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
