ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, MAINTENANCE I
The Electronics Technician, Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes and amplifiers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Replaces components, wires circuits, repairs simple electronic equipment, and takes test readings using common instruments. Works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. GENERAL DUTIES: Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Possesses a good understanding of basic electronic theories and techniques and familiarity with standard electronic components. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operation. Optics associated with laser and camera systems a plus. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics. Requires manual dexterity necessary to perform repairs and modifications to small assemblies such as integrated circuit boards. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives and observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security, and Administrative policies. WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment or outside in various weather conditions.
