Foster Program Manager
Humane Society for Hamilton County (Fishers, IN)
Starting Salary: $48,000 | Full-Time, Salaried
Lead. Inspire. Save Lives.
At the Humane Society for Hamilton County , our foster program is the heartbeat of our life‑saving mission. We’re searching for a
Foster Program Manager
who’s equal parts organizer, coach, and advocate — someone who can turn compassion into coordination and transform good intentions into great outcomes. If you believe every animal deserves a chance to live, love, and be loved — and you thrive in a fast‑paced environment where leadership meets heart — this is your call to action.
What You’ll Do
Oversee all daily operations of our Foster Program — leading and mentoring our Foster Coordinator and volunteers.
Build meaningful relationships with fosters, adopters, and partner organizations.
Create and implement recruitment, training, and retention programs to grow our foster network.
Manage foster placements, medical scheduling, and reporting through PetPoint.
Champion the animals who need a temporary home — from neonatal kittens to those recovering from surgery or trauma.
Collaborate with the Director of Operations and medical staff to ensure every animal gets timely care and a path to adoption.
Who You Are
You’ve led teams or programs in a shelter, rescue, or veterinary environment.
You have hands‑on experience handling both dogs and cats, including medical or special‑needs care.
You’re highly organized, confident in making decisions, and thrive when things get a little chaotic.
You love mentoring others — and see every foster family as a partner in saving lives.
You’re comfortable juggling data, reports, and a phone full of adorable foster updates.
You’re driven by mission, integrity, and the belief that no life is disposable.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Full benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)
Generous PTO starting day one
Matching 401(k)
Employee pet perks — including vaccines, meds, and supplies at cost or free
