Major League Baseball (MLB) will operate the Automated Ball-Strike System("ABS") in all Spring Training and MLB ballparks for the 2026 season. The ABS Operator will collect critical data to support system performance and ensure smooth operation.
The ABS Operator will work from the press box and use a simple web application on an MLB-supplied device connected via Ethernet.
MLB does not provide relocation assistance. You will be responsible for your transportation needs.
This is a seasonal role that requires regular onsite attendance at the ballpark.

Responsibilities
Arrive two hours before first pitch to check in with remote MLB support staff.
Perform pre‑game equipment checks and troubleshoot any system issues.
Operate the ABS application, screen data, and play out challenge videos.
Accurately enter data throughout the game.
Communicate with MLB staff to ensure data accuracy.
Submit a detailed post‑game report.
Communicate with game‑night support staff to report any issues or feedback.
Engage in routine correspondence via email, Slack, or text to stay current with schedules, assignments, and information.
Handle other game‑day responsibilities as determined by your supervisor.
Other game‑day responsibilities during Spring Training, the regular season, and/or postseason as determined by Data Operations supervisor(s).
Qualifications and Skills
Exceptional and demonstrable knowledge of baseball and its rules.
Strong computer proficiency with Windows OS and the ability to quickly learn new software.
Previous experience with a professional or college sports team, particularly in a press box setting.
Regular availability to attend games on weekdays, nights, and weekends.
The ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform under pressure.
A "team player" attitude, including a willingness to learn from mistakes and collaborate with support staff.
Professionalism, reliability, and dedication.
New ABS Operators will complete a correspondence and training program before working any games independently.
Pay Range $25.00 - $27.50 per hour
