What You Will Do
Manage and oversee the quality of loan files; work with business stakeholders (origination, operations, underwriting) on identified defects; determine remediation options; provide reconciliation data for monthly reporting.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to address and remediate identified defects while ensuring remediation efforts comply with state, federal, and local regulatory laws.
Manage and collaborate with third-party audit vendors on timely completion of identified defects to ensure final publication deliverables are consistently met.
Track identified defects, identify trends, system errors, and process gaps during quality assurance reviews under the guidance of the QA Manager.
Escalate and resolve identified system errors or processing gaps in collaboration with Mortgage Technology, Mortgage Originations Leadership, Mortgage Operations Leadership, Mortgage Underwriting Leadership, or Mortgage Servicing Leadership as warranted.
Ensure the quality of loans adheres to SSFCU portfolio, Fannie Mae (FNMA), and mortgage insurance (MI) guidelines.
Work with Mortgage Services Leadership and Mortgage Technology to review, test, and implement compliance changes to the loan origination system (LOS).
Expand and excel in complex and forensic underwriting skills and knowledge.
Complete other job-related duties to help drive our Vision, Purpose, and Values.
What We Require
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent education and/or experience.
Five (5) years of mortgage operations experience.
Five (5) years of mortgage quality assurance audit experience.
Extensive knowledge of mortgage and servicing related regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn advanced skills in all applications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision to ensure concurrent project timelines are met.
Strong analytical, detail-oriented, inquisitive, and organized mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and make recommendations benefiting the credit union.
Goal-driven and self-motivated to work under high volume and stress; maintains professionalism and confidentiality.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent education and/or experience.
Knowledge of Credit Union Core Systems and mortgage systems, regulations, and policies.
Experience with ad hoc reporting and analysis for risk, compliance, and third-party vendors.
Strong knowledge of secondary market, private mortgage insurance, VA, FHA, and state/federal mortgage origination regulations.
Strong initiative to self-start, self-manage projects, and responsibilities.
Ability to develop meaningful, effective reports for Mortgage and Servicing Leadership under QA Manager guidance.
