Kloeckner Metals - Americas . We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a Materials Manager. The successful candidate will support the Regional Manager - Procurement in managing all aspects of our metal supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and inbound logistics. The Materials Manager will work closely with other departments, such as sales, production, quality, and logistics, to ensure that materials are delivered on time, in the right quantity, and at the best possible price. This position will be in office 5 days a week at our Cincinnati, OH branch or at the corporate headquarters in Roswell, GA.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in sourcing materials from suppliers, negotiating spot buy pricing, and managing supplier relationships Work with sales forecast data to execute purchase orders on mill suppliers Monitor inventory levels and help ensure adequate stock of materials to meet production needs Maximize inventory turns and address aged, non-turning inventory with the sales team and sales management Help analyze data and develop reports to track performance metrics, such as inventory turns, days on-hand, on-time delivery, and safety stock levels Collaborate across Kloeckner facilities to identify opportunities for inventory reapplication and optimal utilization of inventory between locations Help manage working capital budgets related to inventory investment Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, such as import/export laws, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental regulations Coordinate supplier claims with quality department and vendor base Act as liaison to mill supply base and communicate critical market information to the sales and management teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, economics, business administration, metallurgy or related field or Associates degree with equivalent relevant work experience 1+ year in the metals industry with some level of product knowledge preferred but not required
