POSITION INFORMATION: Location: Bassette Elementary School Supervisor: Title I Coordinator Employment Period: 10 months Employment Status: Full-Time Hiring Range (G-15): $38,338 -- $51,218 (grant-funded position) Start Date: August 2023 SUMMARY: The Title I Family Engagement Specialist develops in-person and virtual opportunities such as educational programs and workshops that support student achievement and parent engagement. Also: Assists schools in cultivating relationships centered around academic achievement with all families and stakeholders Works in collaboration with school principals and other stakeholders/groups to achieve measurable outcomes and meet school and district goals Serves as the conduit to link families and schools to community-based organizations DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, coordinates, and implements a Family Engagement Program at each Title I school Recruits parents and representatives from school, business and community agencies to participate on the school’s Family Engagement Action Team Creates flyers and other marketing materials to promote events and program Manages their program’s family engagement website and social media platforms Promotes parent and community volunteerism Creates and fosters community partnerships with faith-based organizations, businesses, and non-profit organizations that offer services to meet the needs of families Connects families to resources through meetings and/or periodic home visits Coordinates family events/workshops that support school goals and address key areas of focus Utilizes data to manage family participation/volunteerism Plans and organizes parent training sessions, workshops and family support services Works closely with identified families to ensure they receive continued support for their child’s educational goals Informs families of community resources that could provide needed assistance Develops a Family Engagement Resource Center to check out educational games/materials for the entire family Performs data entry and retrieval of information from database Performs other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in education or related field required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Google Excellent organization, planning and human relation skills Must be familiar with the community and support agencies Must be adaptable to meet the needs of the families in the program in addition to working flexible hours to accommodate work in the evening Experience working in an educational, social service, or family support service setting Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
