Specialist - Integrated Purchasing (Global Trade Logistics/Customs Clearance)

Responsible for customs clearance for various import mass production parts and provide Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) & instructions to customs broker. Plan and make arrangements for transportation of test vehicles and/or parts (both domestically and internationally) in the most efficient and cost effective manner to meet the requirements of the requesting department in an automotive manufacturing environment. Essential Functions:
Prepare Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) & Broker instruction for customs clearance of team truck shipments. Manage customs clearance for Mexico import parts. Plan and coordinate logistics & file export documents for transportation requests. Verify and report team truck freight costs and price discrepancies. Lead transportation supplier pool update, expansion, & maintenance. Select bidders and negotiate fees for trucking and domestic transportation. Track and input various Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for reports. Plan and complete post-entry audits of team truck files. Verify container receipts and maintain shipper document log. Obtain, compare, and evaluate transportation Request for Quotes (RFQs) for non-production export deliveries. Coordinate and expedite shipments for HMMA via ocean, rail, air, and truck. Prepare documentation to pay for broker and transportation invoices. Check and prepare Glovis Document Acceptance/Telegraphic Transfer (DA/TT) financial payments. Check and prepare HMC TT (Telegraphic Transfer) financial payments. Review Advance Shipping Notice Bill of Lading (ASN/BOL) data interface for errors and validate corrections. Ensure necessary copies, forms, materials, reports, records, and documents are made, distributed, and filed. Verification of all data accuracy prior to payment of invoices. Coordinate with other departments/vendors to correct any errors prior to payments. Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business management System (BMS), Environmental Systems Management (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) guidelines. Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
