Overview
God is moving and preparing OMS fields for a great harvest through disciple making, church multiplication, and empowering churches to bless their communities. The goal of the Field Business Manager is to facilitate wise stewardship of field resources to empower OMS Missionaries and OMS partners to fulfill the Great Commission. The Field Business Manager in Asia/Oceania will develop best practices for stewardship in OMS ministries, empower national partners through training, mentoring, and coaching, and in turn empower other nationals, resulting in the multiplication of disciples in stewardship. This stewardship of Kingdom resources will support efforts of the One Mission Society ministry framework of multiplying disciples, churches, leaders, and missionaries.
Education and Experience Requirements
2-year degree in accounting/business/finance or equivalent experience required.
Education in missions, ministry, or Bible a plus.
Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
Skill Requirements
Spiritually and emotionally mature. Able to feed oneself spiritually through personal Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with other believers.
Strong grasp of accounting principles and practices, especially fund accounting.
A desire to multiply disciples who steward resources according to Kingdom principles.
Ability to coach and mentor finance workers.
Able to build and maintain healthy relationships of trust and respect with multiple partners.
A clear biblical worldview that includes and embraces God’s design for finance.
Ability and willingness to learn and practice sound cross-cultural communication skills.
Awareness of cross-cultural situations and an ability to relate graciously to people of many cultures in a manner that engenders respect and trust.
A clear call to the position demonstrated by spiritual gifts, training, experience, and passion.
A servant heart that is teachable, flexible, and willing to learn.
A willingness to learn and understand local customs and practices.

Ability to master OMS accounting software required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preparation of the field budget to be approved by the Field Committee and Finance.
Preparation of the OMS Church Multiplication Budget.
Manage OMS properties and housing.
Mentoring and supervision of the field bookkeeper.
Mentor and/or coach bookkeepers employed by our partner Bible schools and church denominations.
Develop and teach classes on church finance principles and practices, as well as spreadsheets and other software to ministry students and church leaders as requested by OMS-related seminaries, churches and church planters.
Consult with partner organizations to develop and maintain sound, Kingdom-based financial accounting and stewardship practices.
Responsible for all field disbursements and receipts.
Provide accountability for all Mission cash assets, near-cash assets, and securities on the field.
Provide accountability for all Mission assets, such as property, vehicles, equipment, and furnishings.
Maintain all financial records in accordance with Mission standards.
Regularly review the accounts of all that receive and disburse Mission funds.
Responsible to not overspend the approved budget and reduce expenditures when there is insufficient income.
Interpretation of field financial reports from headquarters to the Field Committee on a quarterly basis or as requested by the Field Director.
Supervision of the work of the field bookkeeper.
Performance of necessary internal control procedures.
Oversight of reporting for mission employees and of reporting required by National laws on the field.
Involvement in the interview and engagement of professionals such as accountants and attorneys, and oversight of their work produced.
Responsible for grant reporting for entities/individuals receiving grants from OMS, including requesting reports, reviewing reports, and communicating results to OMS global.
Maintain bank account balances and transfers of funds to minimize fees and limit exchange rate losses.
This is a support-based position that involves raising financial support through ministry partners for salary and other expenses.
