This position is based on-site in Bedford, Indiana. Following the completion of your initial onboarding, you’ll have the flexibility to work remotely 1 to 2 days per week as part of our hybrid work model. Opportunity Overview
The Payment Operations Specialist supports Team Members and Credit Union Members by serving as an expert in Hoosier Hills Credit Union’s Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) services. This role assists the VP of Payment Operations with departmental functions and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure all channels, locations, employees, and members receive effective support. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving challenges in a dynamic environment, designing member-centric solutions that drive business growth, and maintaining a strong understanding of both organizational operations and the member experience. What You’ll Do
As a Payment Operations Specialist at Hoosier Hills Credit Union, you will be an integral part of the Payment Operations team, helping us live out our mission: “To be better for our members by making a positive difference in their lives and the communities we serve.” In this role, you will: Deliver exemplary banking services to members through accurate transactions, including conversations regarding better mobile or online banking options. Champion quality control and change initiatives; promote accuracy and consistency by serving as a resource for co-workers. Learn new procedures and products quickly, transfer knowledge to others, and embrace technology and innovation. Resolve problems or discrepancies concerning member accounts, and transition between responsibilities effectively to assist internal staff. Process and balance daily postings of payrolls, ACH receipt/origination, allotments, and preauthorized withdrawals. Process Notice of Change (NOC) and Return Image (RI) files from the Federal Reserve. Process daily share draft files. Verify the accuracy of postings and resolve any discrepancies. Record and balance all unprocessed items. Return and process all Government Reclamations. Process and correct all transactions transmitted daily from the Federal Reserve, coordinating payroll deductions, new member information, corrections, updates, and changes as needed with Commercial Business contacts. Enter all rejections, pre-notifications, and more on the Federal Reserve website (Fedline). Remit the final cash letter files to Federal Reserve through Fedline Command. Oversee the iTeller process to ensure all check batches are balanced daily and work with frontline staff regarding outages. Maintain complete and accurate files of correspondence, reports, postings, and other duty-related information. Report all branch ECL information to Accounting staff for settlement purposes. Process ACH files and post to loans as processed by Repay software. Assist VP, Payment Operations Services as required. Complete annual Bank Secrecy/OFAC and any related training annually as assigned by Training or Compliance Staff. Comply with all applicable BSA/AML laws, rules, regulations, policies, and business practices established by Credit Union management. Perform other duties as assigned to support the Credit Union’s mission and success. What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or some college-level coursework preferred. 1-3 years of similar or related experience in banking is preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft suite products. Basic knowledge of access databases. Work Environment
Typical office setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
