In the role of Mechanical Construction Inspector, you'll be responsible for: Demonstrating familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods, and processes for buildings and facilities. Conducting inspections of electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil works. Mentoring junior field staff and providing supervision as needed. Collaborating with other field representatives or Project Managers. Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, and identifying discrepancies or conflicts within documents. Documenting observations of construction as it progresses. Serving as the most senior inspector on projects as needed. Performing other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies (e.g., PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA). NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification. Excellent organizational and communication skills. PE license in New York or New Jersey. OSHA 30-hour training. Experience with vertical transportation systems. *Preference given to local candidates. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Successful passing of drug-screening procedures prior to employment, with ongoing random and cause drug and alcohol testing. Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.
