Manufacturing Technician – Applied Materials (Varian)
Location: Gloucester, MA. 18‑month contract with a possibility of permanent employment.
Shift & Pay
Second Shift: Monday–Thursday 3:30 pm – 2 am (10‑hour shifts), $20.00–$22.00 /hr + 10 % differential ($22.00–$24.20 /hr).
Fourth Shift: 5:45 am – 6:15 am (12‑hour shifts), $20.00–$22.00 /hr + 11 % differential ($22.20–$24.42 /hr).
What You’ll Need
1–2 years of non‑semi manufacturing experience.
Computer savvy.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Physical demand: 85 % standing or walking.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts, and electrical/electronic systems into sub‑assemblies or complete units using hand and power tools.
Utilize work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists to build, repair, or test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, or pneumatic assemblies.
Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshoot, and correct errors with assistance.
Operate test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, or vacuum pumps to test assemblies.
Enter data on computer terminals (progress, work expense, labor details).
May perform computer programming, repair, or software installation.
Maintain a secure, clean, safe work environment; attend required health and safety training; report accidents or hazards promptly.
Inspect parts for defects, troubleshoot, and improve processes.
