EDR (Environmental Design & Research)
Overview
EDR is seeking a detail-oriented GIS Analyst with 2–5 years of professional experience to join our GIS team in the Syracuse, NY office. You will be a member of a specialized group of GIS professionals with deep subject matter expertise and will work closely with GIS staff, environmental professionals, planners, and engineers on tasks related to GIS data organization and management, cartography (primarily report figure production), research, and analysis in support of permitting, planning, and land development projects.
Responsibilities
Produce maps, figures, and other deliverables
Compile and manage geospatial data using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
Perform spatial analysis and geoprocessing tasks to support internal teams and client needs
Assist with maintaining geospatial databases and file structures
Conduct research and data acquisition for project needs
Support team with field mapping/GPS data integration as needed
Qualifications
Minimum software proficiency requirements include ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise, and Microsoft Excel
A working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, Global Mapper, Adobe InDesign, and GPS systems are also desired, but not required
Strong cartographic skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment, and multi-task
Experience working with large datasets and managing file systems efficiently
Interest in learning about permitting processes and environmental regulations
Highly adaptable to new technology and emerging trends
2–5 years of professional experience in a GIS-focused role
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or a related field
GISP certification or desire to become certified will be considered a benefit to this position
The anticipated base pay range of $50,000-$65,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
