Summary: The Assistant Program Director, a faculty member (rank based on experience), assists the Program Director in overseeing all aspects of the Anesthesiologist Assistant Program. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, clinical site management, program operations, student success, and staffing with instructors aligned with the university's mission. The role also involves supporting the program’s fiscal health and growth, and stepping in as interim Program Director if needed. The incumbent promotes departmental and campus stature, ensuring adherence to the university philosophy, which emphasizes quality service, employee development, economic principles, and a positive, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform instructional duties as per faculty role and university policies. Develop and oversee the Program Advisory Council (PAC). Participate in faculty development annually. Manage faculty recruitment, training, and development according to university policies. Oversee accreditation activities, ensuring compliance with ARC-AA standards and regulations. Administer and develop the program, including curriculum, student advisement, and community relations. Support student completion initiatives aligned with strategic goals. Collaborate with other Program Directors and Department Chair on scheduling, resources, and curriculum. Provide leadership in personnel issues, communication, and problem-solving. Ensure compliance with all accreditation and regulatory standards. Manage submission of compliance documentation, including graduation and employment data. Participate in student recruitment and admissions processes. Engage in community service, campus relations, and scholarly activities. Provide ongoing clinical and educational guidance to ensure standards are met and students are well-prepared. Position Requirements: Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant by NCCAA or successor. Knowledge and skills in academic administration and classroom instruction. Ability to interpret accreditation and regulatory standards. Strong communication skills for interactions with faculty, students, and external agencies. Experience with administrative software and office applications. Work Environment: Travel may be required for conferences and meetings. The role involves regular talking, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
