Dental Assistant DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Escorts patients into dental treatment rooms and prepares patient and chart for the dentist. Sanitizes all surfaces of dental room, ensures the proper equipment is working, discards disposable supplies and instruments, and prepares instruments and additional supplies for dental care and treatment to be provided for the next patient. Performs and develops diagnostic x-rays and panoramic x-rays when necessary. Assists the dentist by handling instruments and other supplies, suctioning, irrigating, teeth impressions, as directed by the dentist. Dismisses patients when dental care and treatment is completed, providing any assistance to patients as needed. Cleans patient area of dental treatment room, removing instruments and supplies and ensuring that the room is ready for the next patient. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in each room. Responsible to perform suctions on rotational period. Dental Assistant EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required to have one of the following: DA Certificate, High School Diploma, College diploma, or 1 year experience. Ability to relate to people.
