The Opportunity The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking two full‑time, 9‑month assistant professors (tenure‑earning) or associate professors (tenured) in the following areas: Algorithms and complexity, Databases, High performance computing, Operating systems and Programming languages.

The anticipated start date is August 8, 2026.

These positions will be expected to strengthen the Computer Science Department. The ideal candidates will be at the rank of assistant professor, but exceptional candidates at the rank of associate professor will be considered. The ideal candidates will also have a strong background in the areas listed above.

The Department of Computer Science at UCF is home to the first Computer Science Ph D program in Florida. Its 35 tenured and tenure‑track faculty are engaged in world‑class research in Computer Vision, AI and Machine Learning, Virtual Reality, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Privacy, Computer Networks, Computer Architecture/Systems, and many other areas. The department has both CS and IT undergraduate degrees accredited by ABET, M.S. degrees in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security and Privacy, Data Analytics, Computer Vision, FinTech, and a Ph.D. program in Computer Science. Minimum Qualifications An earned Ph D from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment.

To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor, in the tenure home department.

Preferred Qualifications Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a research impact with an upward trajectory as reflected in high‑quality publications and the ability to build a well‑funded research program. We are looking for a team player who can complement our existing strengths and efforts in the department.
