$125,000 – $200,000 per year
Job Overview An AmLaw200 firm seeks a Trust and Estates Attorney. An LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is ideal but not required. This permanent position is for an experienced professional with a passion for estate planning, wealth management, probate, and trust administration.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal advice on trust and estate planning, wealth management, and wealth strategies.
Prepare and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
Handle probate and trust administration matters efficiently and effectively.
Prepare and file federal estate and gift tax returns (Form 706 and Form 709); experience is a plus.
Counsel clients on tax implications and strategies related to estate planning and wealth transfer.
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure the highest level of client service.
Stay updated with the latest developments in trust and estate law and taxation.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, focusing on their financial goals and personal values.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Trust and Estate Attorney.
Extensive experience with probate administration and trust and estate planning.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal estate and gift tax returns (Form 706 and Form 709).
Proficiency in wealth management and wealth strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Must be licensed to practice law in the state.
