General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is looking for a PRN – Zero hour Patient Service Coordinator to join our team in Urgent Care in Pasadena, Md.
As a Patient Service Coordinator you will be responsible for providing the best customer service to patients by greeting them with a warm and friendly smile, checking them in/out, gathering demographic information, verifying insurance, taking copayments and scheduling.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the initial contact person at the medical practice or hospital department and greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Manage the intake of patients into the practice, screen for emergent conditions, register, verify and explain patient responsibility for payment.
Perform check‑in and check‑out procedures by inputting patient charges and verifying demographic and insurance information.
Coordinate efficient patient flow through the practice or hospital department assigned.
Support organization initiatives related to new technology, clinical programs and improving the patient experience.
Minimum Qualifications
6 months – 1 year of providing high quality customer service, preferably in a health care setting.
Working knowledge of IDX/GE centricity business preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
CPR Certification.
This position has a hiring range of $18.33 – $31.61.
