Restaurant General Manager, Peacock Alley – Waldorf Astoria Washington DC
Join the newly unveiled Waldorf Astoria Washington DC, located at the epicenter of D.C. on Pennsylvania Avenue, as the Restaurant General Manager for Peacock Alley.
Responsibilities
Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations, including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use, budgeting, forecasting, department management, policy implementation, and meeting facilitation.
Monitor and develop team member performance, providing supervision, professional development, counseling, evaluations, and recognition.
Create and maintain a customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy.
Maximize efficiency of technology systems (e.g., OpenTable).
Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues, and implement improvements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
Initiate and implement up‑selling techniques to promote restaurant food, beverage, and services, including creating new menus and cross‑selling hotel‑wide.
Recruit, interview, and train team members.
Qualifications
Exceptional leadership and a passion for creating extraordinary experiences.
Experience in all aspects of restaurant operations (financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, employee relations).
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment.
Experience in a luxurious cocktail environment, strong beverage knowledge, and managing a unionized work environment is preferred.
Demonstrated alignment with hospitality values: hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and urgency.
Compensation & Benefits
Classification: Full‑Time
Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: Annual salary range $110,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and location).
