Schedule:
40 hours per week; Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch break). Variable days and hours depending on program schedule and need. Program schedule will be sent out the same day as the Program Preview at 5pm (3rd or 4th) Friday of each month.
Location:
This is an on-site, in-person job that cannot usually be performed remotely. Programs occur throughout the Los Angeles County region. Remote work can be performed with supervisor’s approval.

Summary of the Position:
The Program Manager is an energetic, motivated and compassionate individual with strong communication, management and organizational skills who enjoys working with individuals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. The Program Manager will manage, develop, provide oversight, and coordinate all of the recreational, educational, vocational and social programs and events to ensure staff, participant and volunteer safety and engagement. This includes managing, scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating Friendship Summer Camp. This role requires strong leadership, communication, creativity, and organizational skills to foster a positive and engaging environment for participants to thrive.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage programs and events to ensure participant and volunteer safety and engagement through following Friendship Foundations Program’s Procedures.
Supervise staff, volunteers, participants, aides (1:1 support) at Friendship Foundation programs, activities and events.
Schedule and facilitate a monthly team check-in meeting (zoom and in-person). Create an agenda for the monthly meeting.
Address any misconduct and concerns by participants, aides (1:1 support) and volunteers and report to the Director of Programs.
Maintains current programs and provides regular evaluation and feedback to the Director of Programs.
Assists with developing new programs as needed based on organizational and participant needs.
Works with vendors and community partners to develop new programs and improve current programs.
Supervises and trains staff, interns and volunteers by providing direction, support, and feedback.
Communicates and ensures compliance with all Friendship Foundation policies and procedures with both staff, participants, aides (1:1 support), and volunteers.
Writes and reviews incident reports and determines appropriate response. Report all incidents to the Director of Programs within 24 hours.
Organize, monitor and plan in-person and zoom monthly program schedule to create the master monthly calendar of program events. The master monthly calendar is due to the Director of Programs on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month.
Communicate and coordinate with all program instructors (in-person and zoom) (contracted and volunteer instructors) monthly. Provides updates to instructors on schedule, holiday/office closures, change in schedules/timing, and provide feedback on their individual programs including presentation, music, content, etc.
Create program materials using Constant Contact and Canva.
Track program related expenditures and budgets.
Always wear Friendship Foundation staff shirt/sweatshirt to all programs at all times.
Monitor, oversee and facilitate Friendship Foundation Zoom programs.
Setting up and breaking down programs, events, and equipment. Ability to lift 25lb.
Serve as a positive role model for the participants and volunteers. Foster a supportive and engaging environment, promoting skill development, and demonstrating leadership qualities in programs. Key aspects of being a role model include inspiring participants and volunteers, maintaining safety, encouraging participation, and modeling inclusive and positive behavior.
Assists in supporting Friendship Foundation fundraising, School Clubs and special events.
Serve as an ambassador of the Friendship Foundation. Provide great customer service by being a knowledgeable and helpful resource, building positive relationships with participants, volunteers, and community members.
Contribute to developing and sustaining an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for staff, program participants, volunteers, and community.
Participate in mandatory staff meetings and training/development opportunities.
Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Director of Programs.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
Writing and oral skills necessary to communicate to staff, participants, volunteers, and community partners.
Pass a background check.
Preferred experience working with people with disabilities.
Preferred experience working with volunteers.
Preferred experience with social, recreational, educational, and or vocational programming.
Must be CPR and CPI certified within 30 days of being hired by Friendship Foundation.
*The job requires flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of Friendship Foundation.
*There will be occasional nights and weekends to support community and fundraising events.
