Regional Engagement Coordinator
We have an exciting opening for a Regional Engagement Coordinator. This is a part‑time, temporary position contracted for four (4) months at the University of Washington.
The Regional Engagement Coordinator will partner with the Senior Director of Membership & Engagement Strategy to co‑design and execute programs that engage alumni and stakeholder communities in regional markets outside of Puget Sound. Responsibilities include program development, event execution, and managing regional daily operations (email, listserv management, and volunteer communications).
What You Will Do:
Co‑develop and produce high‑quality programming and UW‑related content for three major regional markets (Bay Area, Southern California, and New York), including working with vendors and partners as necessary.
Collaborate with the ASE Marketing team to develop electronic and print materials, online registrations, and other engagement devices for regional events.
Prepare and monitor individual event budgets ranging from $500 – $20,000.
Support volunteer‑led winter socials in all six major regional markets, as needed.
Coordinate event information, marketing, and billing as needed.
Manage the regional inbox, SharePoint folders, and listservs, resolving incoming emails as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in development/alumni relations, community engagement, event planning, public relations, project management, or a related field.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration exist.
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service.
Ability to express oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others and in all forms of communication.
Experience working with high‑level administrators, corporate executives, and professionals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools for correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and forms.
Experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or public sector.
What You Can Expect:
This position is an in‑person, part‑time, temporary role scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week for four (4) months.
Cubicle/open workspace environment that may result in higher noise levels and visual distractions.
Workload and times may vary, including occasional evenings or weekends.
