Responsibilities
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services – from inception, design, deployment, operation, and refinement using an agile methodology.
Support services before they go live through system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
Embrace the DevSecOps culture with a commitment to automate what can be automated.
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Scale systems sustainably through automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Practice sustainable incident response and proactively participate in retrospectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
DHS/CBP background investigation highly preferred .
5+ years’ experience as a DevSecOps Engineer.
Minimum of 5+ years of programming experience in Python, with ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
Systematic problem‑solving approach, effective communication skills, and a sense of drive.
Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
Demonstrated experience building continuous, automated build and deploy pipelines.
Experience in conditional build and deploy pipelines based on security scans of source and artifact.
Capability to work with software development teams and platform infrastructure teams to provide meaningful guidance for code development and deployment.
In‑depth knowledge of version control of release artifacts to facilitate upgrade rollout and rollback.
Strong understanding of containerization of web applications.
Understanding and familiarity with container orchestration engines such as K8s (EKS, AKS, GKE, Kops, OpenShift).
Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
Experience with bash shell scripting.
Desired:
Agile, Lean, DevOps, Cloud, Security or other professional certification.
Familiarity with DHS Community IT standards and federal security standards strongly desired.
Knowledge of the DHS software development process and its technologies.
Hands‑on experience using agile software development methodologies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well across functional agile teams.
Experience working in a consultant/client environment.

Target salary range: $114,986 - $200,154
