Director, AI Product Manager
New York Life Investments, a leading global asset management firm with $785 billion in assets under management, is seeking a visionary AI Product Manager to join the AI and Data Science team. In this high‑impact role, you will report to the Head of AI and Data Science and work closely with the Head of Operations and the Head of Real Estate Intelligence to define, design, and deliver AI‑driven tools that enhance decision‑making and streamline operational processes. You will build Real Estate Investor (REI) AI and data science capabilities from the ground up, initially focused on improving efficiency in commercial loan origination through intelligent automation and data‑driven insights.

What You’ll Do
Define a forward‑thinking AI product strategy aligned with REI’s investment goals and broader technology roadmap.
Translate business problems into AI‑powered solutions that enhance workflow, accuracy, and efficiency.
Own the AI product roadmap and manage end‑to‑end execution, from model development and testing to operational deployment and user adoption.
Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, designers, and front‑end developers to ensure technical feasibility and seamless integration with REI systems.
Conduct hands‑on QA of AI models, analyze performance results, and drive iterative improvements to ensure production‑grade reliability.
Leverage large language models (LLMs), Agentic AI systems, and human‑in‑the‑loop (HITL) frameworks to deliver scalable, context‑aware tools that support investment decision‑making.
Serve as the primary bridge between technical teams and real estate practitioners to gather insights, validate solutions, and drive adoption.
Present AI product strategy, roadmap progress, and measurable impact to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading AI/ML‑driven initiatives.
Proven success collaborating with engineers to build, test, and refine AI models in production environments.
Technical fluency in modern AI/ML systems, including LLM orchestration frameworks, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and scalable data integration across enterprise platforms.
Experience integrating structured human feedback and expert review into model evaluation and continuous refinement.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑stage environment.
Preferred Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA.
Proficiency with AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, SageMaker), Python, and SQL for data development and integration.
Experience connecting AI models with enterprise data through REST APIs, webhooks, and Kafka event streams.
Familiarity with SharePoint‑based document workflows, content structuring, and metadata design for retrieval automation.
Knowledge of commercial real estate, private equity, or investment workflows.
Pay Transparency Salary Range: $129,500 – $165,000 Overtime eligible: Exempt Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes Sales bonus eligible: No Actual base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
