Job Description Facilitates patient medical and financial clearance using medical and healthcare knowledge, clinical judgment, and communication skills to resolve difficulties surrounding patient access, authorization of services, and coordination of scheduled programs.
Job Summary Coordinates and schedules patient care for all wellness programs, collaborates with patient financial services (PFS) to ensure appropriate authorizations, develops monthly Wellness newsletter, and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Education/GED or equivalent – Preferred
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience – Preferred
Two years' healthcare experience – Preferred
Essential Functions
Coordinates and schedules patient care for all wellness programs; facilitates communication between scheduling staff and user departments, physicians, and patients.
Answers telephone inquiries regarding physician referrals and performs front desk duties as needed; maintains patient scheduling database.
Collaborates with PFS to obtain appropriate authorizations per policy; submits documentation for retro‑authorization, files and appeals for denial of services.
Develops monthly Wellness newsletter, updates website, creates promotional flyers; actively participates in training.
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
