Job Title: Maintenance Technician As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a diverse range of production and R&D equipment, including both automated and manual systems. You will collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues, ensuring equipment uptime, repeatability, and compliance with process requirements.
Responsibilities
Execute equipment qualifications, calibrations, and performance verification.
Track maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs in detailed documentation.
Develop and refine preventive maintenance procedures, spare‑parts strategies, and equipment upgrade plans.
Support installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of manufacturing tools and infrastructure.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify and implement improvements in reliability, throughput, and safety.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, modeling best practices for equipment care and facility stewardship.
Essential Skills
7+ years of high‑tech production machine maintenance experience.
Hands‑on expertise with mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a proven record of repairs and continuous improvement.
Excellent documentation habits—clear, concise, and accurate recordkeeping.
Safety‑first mindset with knowledge of LOTO and high‑voltage/gas safety best practices.
Physical capability to perform various physical tasks during an 8‑hour shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PLC programming understanding a plus.
A High School diploma is required; a two‑year technical degree is a bonus.
Experience working with gloveboxes in controlled environments (bonus).
Hands‑on experience with PVD processes (bonus).
Familiarity with ECP or laser machining technologies (bonus).
Advanced knowledge of CNC machining and control systems (bonus).
Work Environment The position is onsite in Berkeley, requiring proximity within 45 minutes. The startup environment provides a dynamic and flexible workplace with locations in Berkeley and Santa Clara.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
