Q Center is looking for a Grounds Manager to join our team! Job Summary

The Grounds Manager is responsible for ensuring that the outside grounds of the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and associates. The Grounds Manager is responsible for maintaining the grounds outside the building including, but not limited to: grass, trees, shrubs, removal and planting of all types of plants and flowers, snow plowing/removal, salting walks and drives, and vehicle maintenance. This position is on-site, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends, generally a 45 hour workweek from 7:00am - 4:30pm. Starting rate for this position is $60,000/year. Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the daily operations of department and associates. Maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of associate and guest satisfaction. Define and implement department objectives and standard operating procedures. Manage budget, forecast, expense, records, and contracts. Ensure preparation of required reports, including payroll, revenue, associate schedules, and quarterly action plans; assist in maintaining an organized and comprehensive filing system with documentation of purchases, invoices, schedules, forecasts, reports and tracking logs; submit required reports in a timely manner. Maintain Q Center Standard Operating Procedures regarding Purchase Orders in Birchstreet. Develop labor schedules to align with operation needs ensuring guest and client satisfaction; make changes for-the-week, in-the-week as business changes occur and effectively communicate changes timely and appropriately. Interview candidates for open department positions and follow standards for hiring approvals. Conduct departmental training, departmental meetings developing associate morale and skills. Motivate, coach and counsel all department personnel according to Q Center Policy. Conduct associate performance reviews in accordance with Q Center standards. Ensure training and compliance of all associates on Standard Operating Procedures, Q Center policies, technical tasks and risk management is achieved. Operate all aspects of the department computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple programming. Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention. Respond to all associate and guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented through various channels, in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner; follow up to ensure guest and associate satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage all necessary department supplies. Ensure overall associate and guest satisfaction and safety is achieved. Perform other related duties as assigned. Maintain 95 acres of grounds by raking, mowing, trimming, planting, digging, and mulching. Remove diseased or damaged trees and replace by planting new trees. Must possess a knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in planting, cultivating, and trimming a variety of types of trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers and grasses. Create new landscapes outdoor environments (planting new flowers, bushes, trees, etc.). Provide an aesthetically pleasing environment by: Mowing using various push/standing/tractor mowers and equipment Applying mulch to ornamental beds Power edging ornamental beds with an edger Rototilling Fertilizing watering the flower beds Removing leaves on grounds Physical Requirements

Flexible and long hours sometimes required, to include evenings and weekends as needed. Heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Requires a full range of motion in order to operate manual, electric and gas-powered equipment and machines. Ability to move throughout all outdoor work areas throughout all seasons. Employees in this job classification are considered essential employees and must report to work as scheduled whether the Q Center offices are open or closed, during periods of severe weather. Education & Experience

Certificate or Degree in Horticulture or a minimum of 10 years previous experience with exterior plant maintenance required. Minimum 5 years landscape design preferred. Herbicide/Pesticide Application License required. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Valid Driver’s License (CDL optional). Benefits
