as a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (Part‑Time) in Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences. The faculty member will work with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, the Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum, and relevant committees to develop, administer, evaluate, and revise the medical student core clerkship and its components. This role oversees the coordination and implementation of clerkship goals across all sites, ensures comparability and integration within the medical school curriculum, and facilitates a supportive learning environment focused on student wellness and professional development.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: M.D. or D.O. degree
Expected Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years in specialty or combined experience and education in field
Minimum Requirements in Field of Expertise: Possess an active California State Medical License, current active clinical experience in field of expertise, current ABMS Certification in field of expertise

Responsibilities Administrative
Work collaboratively with department leadership and appropriate leaders at all sites to ensure faculty and resident supervisors receive all materials deemed necessary by the Medical Education Curriculum Committee within designated time frames.
Oversee and monitor the development, implementation, and coordination of didactic and clinical learning elements of the clerkship at all sites.
Conduct regular meetings and site visits with appropriate leaders at all off‑site clerkship locations.
Ensure comparability across sites and appropriate horizontal and vertical integration within the medical school curriculum.
Implement appropriate "Residents as Teachers" curriculum with departmental and residency leadership.
Oversee and monitor the collection and documentation of student data, including required clinical experiences, physical exam skills, clerkship assignments, mid‑clerkship feedback, and student evaluations of supervisors and clerkship.
Conduct individual mid‑clerkship feedback meetings with students on each rotation.
Oversee and monitor the collection of faculty and resident supervisor evaluations of students.
Complete grading of student post‑encounter notes for end‑of‑clerkship OSCEs each rotation.
Ensure final clerkship grades are submitted within four weeks of the end of the clerkship or otherwise in compliance with KSOM and LCME requirements.
Participate in the structured annual clerkship review process.
Attend monthly Clerkship‑Phase Curriculum Committee meetings.
Attend monthly Clerkship Director / Medical Student Educator Meetings.
Serve as a member of the ad‑hoc Grade Appeal Committee as assigned.
Attend curriculum or student affairs retreats and multidisciplinary meetings as assigned.
Attend faculty development training sessions offered throughout the year by the Division of Medical Education or other comparable experiences agreed upon with the Vice Dean for Medical Education.
Develop and manage program innovations with input from KSOM oversight committees, the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, and the Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum.
Research, gather, organize, interpret, and summarize data related to academic and clinical activities for KSOM oversight committees, the Department of Medical Education, or the Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum.
Assist in student performance issues, including remediation.
Establish and maintain an appropriate professional network; maintain current knowledge of professional and regulatory guidelines; attend and participate in professional meetings and conferences; represent the program or clerkship as delegated by the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education or the Associate or Assistant Deans for Curriculum or Student Affairs.
