Position Title
CNC Lead

Responsibilities Coach and mentor team members at all skill levels, focusing on technical capabilities and professional growth; provide hands‑on training, set clear performance expectations, and give constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
Identify individual strengths and development areas, tailor training plans, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
Schedule and manage workload of the CNC department.
Problem‑solve a wide range of machining projects, selecting appropriate equipment, designing or sourcing effective fixtures, and developing efficient CNC programs to ensure precision, repeatability, and throughput.
Ensure all machining operations meet established company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
Continuously analyze and refine manufacturing processes to improve cycle times, accuracy, and overall workflow.
Proactively identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and potential quality issues, implementing corrective actions and process enhancements as needed.
Assist in quoting CNC work when necessary.
Pursue continuous learning to stay current with machining technology, programming techniques, and leadership best practices.
Participate in relevant trade‑related training, certifications, and leadership development programs.
Set a strong example for the team, driving a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous learning within the department.
Participate in cross‑departmental teams to resolve problems and ensure ongoing improvement of processes and methods, including operations meetings.
Act as liaison between the CNC team on 1st and 2nd shifts.
Provide support to shop supervisors.
Multi‑task several issues and jobs.
Ensure completion of all paperwork, records, and documents.
Work overtime to meet customer timelines.
Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN, and world‑class manufacturing initiatives.
Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.
Regular physical attendance is required.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements High school education or GED.
7‑10 years of CNC machining experience.
Knowledge of CNC programming software.
Progressive knowledge of industry software: SolidWorks and CAD/CAM.
Knowledge of geometric tolerance and ability to read complex prints.
Intermediate use of Microsoft software.
CAD knowledge preferred.
3D knowledge preferred.
Basic business knowledge preferred.
Able to work overtime at the required times to meet customer demands.
Ability to multi‑task while assisting others.
Journeyman's card in CNC and/or tool making preferred.
Prior experience in automotive, aerospace, and medical industries preferred.
Prior manufacturing experience, in a non‑production environment, useful.
