Hartzell Propeller is the global leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing technology for general aviation applications – both piston engine and turboprop – as well as custom propulsion solutions for electric, hybrid‑electric aircraft and advanced air mobility programs. In 2021, Hartzell Propeller acquired Tanis Aircraft Products to expand Hartzell’s heating products and expanded its offerings in the experimental propeller market with the acquisition of Whirlwind Propeller in 2024. Key Responsibilities Hartzell Propeller seeks a Vice President of Sales to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and programs that creates demand, generates revenue, and helps the organization meet profitability goals. As a key member of HPI’s leadership team, this position serves as the executive‑level advocate for customer needs across the organization and will oversee forecasting, pricing strategy, financial analysis, and major contract negotiations. Significant domestic and international travel is required to engage directly with customers, distributors, and industry partners.

Key Deliverables Of The Position

Drive revenue growth and sales performance

Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue targets.

Drive new customer acquisition, upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.

Implement and track KPIs for sales productivity.

Deliver accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to the executive team.

Marketing Strategy and Brand Development

Create and oversee the integrated marketing strategy.

Strengthen brand positioning in the market through consistent messaging and campaigns.

Ensure marketing efforts directly support pipeline growth and sales.

Track ROI of marketing initiatives and campaigns.

Develop a cohesive and talented staff; nurture our winning culture

Play a significant role in the hiring, onboarding and development of talent for the manufacturing team

Identify contributors with potential to grow and provide development opportunities

Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends

Gather and use customer feedback to refine offerings and strategies

Monitor competitive feedback to refine offerings and strategies

Represent the “voice of the customer” within the leadership team.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Partnerships

Design go to market plans for new products, services or markets.

Identify and develop strategic partnerships, channels and alliances.

Oversee pricing, packaging and positioning strategies

First Year Success Factors

Build relationships with key customers

Achieve or exceed agreed‑upon revenue and sales targets

Develop a working knowledge of propeller/aircraft development and US/foreign certification cycle

Understanding of Hartzell’s engineering life cycle for hardware configuration control

Exhibit a clear understanding of other Tailwind Technologies’ company products and market position

Requirements Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required (technical or business field preferred); MBA a plus

Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in a technical or engineered products environment; Aviation experience is a plus

Technical Competencies

Demonstrated success in managing international sales networks, building strategic partnerships, and achieving growth targets

Financial and Business Acumen

Revenue forecasting: advanced skill in creating accurate sales and marketing forecasts

P&L Management: Experience in budget planning, cost control and ROI analysis

Pricing and Packaging: Understanding of pricing models, margin optimization and discount structures

Proven ability to analyze and interpret sales data

Strong mechanical/technical aptitude with ability to understand highly engineered products

Expertise in negotiating high‑value, multi‑party agreements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and ERP/MRP systems

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
