Observability Architect
Location: McLean, VA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
We are seeking a highly skilled Observability Architect with strong expertise in Dynatrace and Cloud DevOps to design, implement, and optimize enterprise‑grade monitoring and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will define observability strategies, enable proactive performance insights, and drive automation to ensure optimal application reliability and availability across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
Job Responsibilities
Define and lead the end‑to‑end observability strategy leveraging Dynatrace as the core platform.
Design and implement monitoring architectures for applications, APIs, microservices, databases, and infrastructure.
Architect and manage service flow mapping, distributed tracing, real‑user monitoring (RUM), and synthetic monitoring frameworks.
Enable AI‑driven root cause analysis (RCA), anomaly detection, and self‑healing automation through Dynatrace and AIOps integrations.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to embed observability practices into CI/CD pipelines.
Establish and maintain dashboards, SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
Ensure best practices for instrumentation of logs, metrics, and traces using OpenTelemetry and similar frameworks.
Provide governance and technical leadership for observability initiatives across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
Mentor teams on observability standards and influence observability maturity roadmaps.
Must‑Have Skills
4 years in Observability Monitoring architecture.
Dynatrace (Observability / APM Architecture).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong understanding of application architectures, microservices, containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker), APIs, cloud‑native apps.
