Description The group is currently looking for a Summer Analyst to join the San Francisco office for 8‑12 weeks. You will sit with our small team in San Francisco and receive hands‑on experience in the US Environmental Markets. You will develop deep knowledge of a specific market and complete an independent research project that you will present to the Managing Director at the conclusion of the program.
Responsibilities
Develop software‑based tools to assist with market analysis and portfolio management for the US Environmental Markets business.
Conduct ad‑hoc analyses to support trade ideation and quantify portfolio risk.
Receive exposure to various US environmental commodity markets, trading strategies, and portfolio management techniques.
Present your independent research project to the Head of the US Business at the conclusion of the program.
Qualifications
Studying toward a degree in Environmental Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
Interest in commodity markets – a particular interest in energy or environmental markets is a plus.
Experience building analytical software or data science tools.
Proficiency in Python and MS Office (especially Excel).
Self‑starter with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Structured and disciplined way of working.
Strong motivation, proactiveness, intellectual curiosity, analytical aptitude, and high personal integrity.
